I was a smart futures intern at EY for a 3 week paid programme. We did many activities including improving team working and communication skills. Each day we had a different activity including dragons den day, case study day and a day at a London law firm. Our last week was called the business experience where we spent our time at a client site.
I have learnt communication skills and developed my communication through team activities and presentations. Through our dragons den day we developed our presentation skills and I am much more confident with public speaking because of this and other activities we did. We also did learning logs to get a cmi qualification in leadership which improved my research skills.
I enjoyed it a lot. I made many friends and we were treated very well. It met my expectations. I also enjoyed all the tasks and icebreaker we did.Through our dragons den day we developed our presentation skills. Also we got to network a lot which was very helpful i.
I felt very valued as they gave us lunch everyday and covered our travel to London and treated us like adults. I feel I would like come back to ey as they treat you like people. Also I enjoyed the professional environment. MY efforts don't go unwasted and all the work I did was appreciated.
Our programme was very well structured we had been given an itinerary before the programme and were told about the company. My induction was great to get know everyone. The first day gave me a good idea about ey and what it does and its service lines. The next week was when we went London and it was all very well planned.
We had a lot of support from our training provider and we coukld email them with an issues or talk in person etc.
I received a lot of support from all the people in charge of the programme and they all gave me help
The salary met all my costs and our lunches were provided for the first two weeks. They paid for us to go bowling. we were given lunch for the first two weeks. We also got a lot of support if we had issues with finances. I did not have to travel that far as I lived close to the office.
This programme will increase my employability as I have developed many skills and I feel I have came out of the programme.
Yes
This experience has changed me and I would recommend it to everyone as it makes you more confident and gives you a good understanding of the professional services. I would advise them to be themselves and be confident as this programme is an amazing opportunity. This programme would give anyone an aamazing experience
I would advise them to be themselves and be confident as this programme is an amazing opportunity and you should make the most out of everything. I would also say they should ask questions and not be worried about this and make the most of the opportunity. the application process wasn't long and I had a telephone interview also.
