Smart Futures Intern Tasks varied day- to day. The common theme was to be able to work effectively in a small team of 3-5 people and then have a final presentation to present in front of judges with a Q&A and an overall winner.
I ve developed my ability to do public speaking, time management and work closely in a team with people who I did not know. The skills I learnt were very very useful not just for the programme but for any future employment.
The programme was amazing and the staff was friendly. There was a healthy working environment and everyone made you feel welcome. There were oppurtunities to experiane new things and places as well give you an insight into the job.
The way I was treated was great. Any problems I had I knew I could ask for help without feeling like I was doing something wrong or be embarrassed. I also felt valued because there was an award ceremony to show well we progressed.
The programme was well structured. There was organized way things were done with an agenda for the day which was stuck to. This meant everyone knew what was going on and no-one felt confused about anything.
A lot from going out to clients I was told what to do shown an example and then was supposed to complete the task all by my self. If I still struggled I was given the right help to help me complete my task.
I was assigned a mentor . With My mentor I could discuss anything I needed help with and it does not matter if it was related to my work or if it was related to something personal . I know that they would help me we whatever I needed.
The salary was very good. My travel to and from work was prepaid which I did not have to worry about that which was a relief. The wage I received was reflective of what the sort work I was doing
Yes there are events which are held throughout the year which we could attend. We would also be in contact with members of the company even after the programme had ended
