I was working as an intern at EY. This involved developing on my presentation and communication skills through various activities throughout the program. I was required to work in teams which also impacted on my networking skills positively. We needed to allocate tasks to one another to ensure we could complete the task accurately and to the best of our ability. Responsibilities consisted of time keeping, delegating, managing IT, and working time efficiently.
Through this experience I have gained CMI qualification in team leading. This has given me an advantage which I would not have received if I wasn't on the program. I have also improved on my public speaking skills through the presentations I participated in. I have learnt the importance to build relationships through networking and this has personally helped me to develop on my confidence when speaking to new people.
I have really enjoyed my program on Smart Futures. I have found it very helpful and knowledgeable to be able to have been working in a professional business and gaining extra experience and knowledge. I have also enjoyed working as part of a team and developing on my communication skills as well as the positive side of working well as a team. The program itself exceeded my expectations and I have truly enjoyed it.
I have felt like I am a part of EY. They have treated me with the same values they treat each other with. Everyone has been really helpful and understanding. I especially felt valued when working on a client site and actually being trusted to complete official work for the team and client.
The program has been very well constructed and there has been full days of activities throughout. They have provided us with support and training during our time here, as well as offering us support in the future. It is very nice that we have been appointed mentors from EY to help us through our own journeys.
I have received complete support from everyone who I have worked with. They have provided me with all the answers they could. They have also been easy to talk and very friendly. I believe that most of the people I have worked with during my experience have been very approachable and understanding whilst being supportive too. They have made this experience even better.
My mentor has been very approachable and I am looking forward to staying in contact. They have shown that they are accessible for advice and will be willing to provide further support. Everyone has been very helpful with any questions I have had and I feel they have been extremely supportive throughout the journey at EY.
It has been an incredible boost to be getting paid for this experience, it will help me to fund for travel and activities that I have planned for summer. To be honest I would have even taken part if the program was an unpaid experience.
Now because I have completed the Smart Futures Program, I will be able to add it to my CV and get noticed by potential employers. This has given me an advantage in the work place and has provided me with wonderful work experience that I have really enjoyed.
Yes
I would recommend EY to a friend because everyone here is so friendly and supportive. They also work so well as teams and care about their employees. Overall, the company is so great and I have enjoyed working with them.
I would advise others applying to EY to definitely look forward to having a great experience. I would say that they should take this opportunity on board and enjoy it to the fullest. It will provide you with many further opportunities as well as qualifications. It will also provide you with information regarding your future, whether you are sure or not. Overall, EY is a very good company to work for and I would definitely recommend this experience to others.
