Job title: SMART FUTURES Intern EY has shaped me into a confident person. I did so many presentations to get to this stage. The highlight of my experience probably has to be going to Baker McKenzie negotiating. During the negotiations, it got a bit heated which I found hilarious and also seeing the EY office in canary wharf. The view that their office had was mesmerizing. Another thing that I enjoyed was meeting new people. People that I will stay in touch probably for the rest of my life. I’m hoping to become an EY brand ambassador to spread the word about EY. Not only that you gain a qualification in a leadership, which makes you stand out from the crowd!
The Skill that I have gained is time management. This is because they pressured us to do presentations at an allocated time constantly. Public speaking is another skill that I have gained. We had to speak to people very high up. For example, executive directors, partners, senior staff and ect.
Each and every one of you have been absolutely amazing. The highlight of my experience probably has to be going to Baker McKenzie negotiating. I feel very valued at EY. All my efforts do not go unnoticed. Everyone in the company is really friendly and nice. They also acknowledge your existence and have a nice conversation. You can have banter with everyone. They always recognize when you are trying your best. They challenge you to get the best out you, too.
The programme was very structured. We had an induction before we joined the programme. We met everyone, who was going to participate in the programmme. We had IT training and that lasted for 2 hours. It was very in depth and detailed. The support from the staff was amazing. Everyone, is willing to help you when you are in need.
We get so much training. After the 3 weeks, you get a mentor for 10 months. They will guide you. The guidance that we receive is absolutely amazing. You are also are a part of the EY Alumni. They gave us food for lunch. they paid for us to go bowling. They reimbursed our travel. They paid for our train ticket when we went up to London. It's paid work experience, which is great. I don't live far from the programme but I have to take a coach, so they reimbursed my travel.
There are many opportunities outside work, for example you are part of a big network community, you are part of the EY alumni. There are many refresh events like go karting, paint balling. They took us bowling. We get to work with financial times. Every day is a different day at EY. It is amazing.

The programme is very beneficial. It really develops you as a person. It shapes you into a well rounded person and you come out more confident. It opens so many doors and opportunities, which is a life changing experience. Plus, the staff are really nice and friendly. Everyone has positive vibes and have a great mindset.
They should be themselves. They should always smile, when applying use buzzwords like networking, confidence, honesty, integrity, teamwork. You need to have the drive to learn new things. Talk to everyone, get everyone’s emails and just ask lots of questions. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. No question is a stupid question.
