Every morning, there was a presentation/group exercise prepared for the work experience students by the trainee solicitors. After lunch, I joined various practice group within the firm and was given tasks to complete by my supervisor from each group. During my week, I gained an insight into the work in Property, CAD and Banking departments. There was also a chance to review my personal statement or/and CV at the end of the week. The trainees answered my every question, helped with the tasks and were very supportive throughout the week. There was also a Mock Employment Tribunal followed by a discussion about the weaknesses and strengths of each side's argument, which I found particularly interesting.
I have learnt a lot about the Scottish legal system, developed research skills.
The programme was great and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I felt very valued by the firm, even though I suppose my work had no (or limited) impact on the work of the supervisors/other trainees.
Everything was according to a timetable provided to us on the first day and there was no time to get bored.
I received feedback after every task that I completed, help with my CV and general feedback after completing the programme. If I struggled with or did not understand a task, the traineed were always there to help me and answer any doubts.

The programme was unpaid.
The work experience students go out for lunch together every day.
Yes
Because the programme was extremely instructive, inspiring and I wish it lasted longer.
Take your time with the application, highlight your abilities and experience and really think through your answers to the longer questions.
