I worked within the Tax team, I was given work to do from my Buddy who I shadowed, and helped me organise meetings with members of the tax team who had different specialisms, including a Partner, who gave me really useful advice in applying for the School Leaver programme.
I have learnt lots of employability skills and networking skills, and helped build my self-confidence and business awareness beyond their previous levels. I have also learned how PwC work and what it takes to work for them.
I have really enjoyed my week and look forward to applying. I have enjoyed the environment and work culture of flexibility in and out of the office, as well as the close-knit environment.
During my time at my base office in Cambridge, I felt valued because everyone at the office remembered my name, and took time out of their work in order to explain different technical terms. Everyone from partner to associate was very friendly, taking time out of their busy diaries to chat to me about their roles, I made great contacts and this feeling of value helped my self confidence grow.
My programme was well structured and timetabled, as well as having contact with my buddy before my programme began, so I knew who to meet on the 2nd day.
My buddy acted as a training provider, and was extremely helpful in explaining to me how to complete my tasks, and helping me making the most out of my week.
This week I have had support contacts available to reach out to if I needed help, and have been supported in organising appointments all week.
The pay for the week has been more than adequate, as I did not expect to be paid for work experience. There are also reimbursements available for travel.
