Audit Trainee. Ensure clients financial statements give a true and fair view of a companies transactions. Alot of the job is client facing, rarely in the office. 2 main phases to the job. Planning and Audit. Planning is where we run throiugh client systems to understand how they operate and what controls they have in place. This is useful when designing tests for the audit and knowing who to speak to and where to find information. The audit is where we carry out the tests which have been designed and check materiat statements of a clients FS are true and fair
Yes lots. Computer skills have improved, such as use of excel. I have learnt how to audit different sectors, namely Housing associations, charities and Manufacturing.
Reallygood and valuable experience. I enjoy learning how companies operate and understanding a clients entity. So far exam pressure hasnt been too intense which is down to the 5 years we have to complete the ACA. Only 1 exam down though so i dont want to jinx myself!
As valued as a trainee can be? obviously we have limited involvement in themore complex audit areas and tests but everyone is happy to answer quesitons and see your pregression.
So far no problems. i had a few issues at the start (As did others) over my coursework. I was confused as to what we actually had to complete and by when. This is the only informaiton i wanted to know as well. So when we had 4 days to perofmr a presentaiton and document everything, admittedly i started panicking abit when i had limited knowledge of what tasks i was actually asked to complete and what tasks could be completed at a later date.
My assessor has given me the amount of support that i have needed so far. She explained what i had to do clearer than the initial lecture we had online (Which wasn't the best!)
Not alot. Apart from obiosuly sending us to college we are expetced to complete everything on our own.
Because i live at home, im not stuggling much. the problem i have is with my travel expenses which is alot. ecause i live so far away a 2 hour commute their and back to a client is good.
We get invited to firmwide breakfast events alot, but i havnt been to any yet.
