My role during the first week of the work experience varied everyday. It consisted of preparing for presentations e.g. for Dragons Den session. In addition, I had to also complete learning logs which is a level 2 qualification in team leading.
I developed my presentation skills through presenting in different scenarios through out the programme. I also developed my team working skills through the fact that we had to work as a team in the Dragons Den session which involves communication skills.
To a large extent that I enjoyed the programme. Everyday was unpredictable which made the programme even more enjoyable. The trip to UKFAST was fun because it gave us an insight of what apprentices do as well as the kind of working environment they work in.
I feel very valued. One reason for this is because of the remuneration I will get which shows that EY values me
It is very organised because every presentation that we listened to was very well presented. EY stuck to a strict structure which made everything look good.
For the qualification we are working on, the staff from EY helped us in that they gave us feedback on the work we did which should result in me passing the qualification. And also if I felt stuck, I could always ask for help and will always receive it.
I receive a lot of support from EY as stated above.
The costs for travel I did not have to pay for and also lunch was provided most of the times. The wages I will receive is good and above the minimum wage.
As a result of completing this work experience. employers will definitely value the work experience that I have done in EY. I have also been assigned a mentor who will help us through various applications e.g. University application.
Yes
It not only looks good in your CV but the skills acquired from this experience is exceptional. Networking skills for example e.g. meeting new people that we would have otherwise not met.
I would inform them that they should not get daunted by the application process. I remember being told that the interview would last for at least 20 minute which felt pretty long before actually getting interviewed. However, it went very quick and the questions asked are not asked to trick you but to get an honest answer.
