E&I Apprentice Carrying out theory and practical tasks according to the apprenticeship programme and to a high standard. Cooperating with my colleagues and other national grid employees. Driving a company van to and from site and representing national grids company image. Be on time and prepared for work with the correct equipment and PPE
Carried out various engineering and electrical qualifications e.g. PEO, PAT Testing etc. As well as personal skills such as communication, teamwork and the like.
the work is interesting and challenging while on site the theory side can be tedious but it is needed to pass the course
we are recognised as the future of national grid
Some courses can be layed out in a illogical way but i understand the time constraints affect this
support from tutors and mentors is really good.
I can sometimes find it hard to access support via the infonet or sharepoint. Programme manager can be hard to get hold of sometimes Line manager is always there if i need help via phone/text/email etc.
Good starting wage and benefits package
There are some events but i dont feel many of them are solely aimed at the apprentices.
