My role includes caring for bereaved families, caring for deceased, liasing with third parties to arrange funerals, clerical work, handling payments, collecting and transporting deceased, conducting funerals , preparing coffins, following health and safety procedures, cleaning vehicles and cleaning the funeral home are some of the tasks I carry out daily.
I have developed my social skills and my knowledge about health and safety in the work place. I have also developed new skills such as how to care for the deceased. I have developed my knowledge on vehicles and improved my driving skills.
I love my Job!!! The programme I have been on has been unnecessarily lengthy and has delayed my progression in the workplace.
I feel valued by the Co-operatiove, I have been both internally and externally recognised.
Training through the co-operative was prompt and well issued. The apprenticeship programme has been a let down.
Plenty of support from my PFD, Manager and colleagues. Huge lack of support currently from NVQ persons.
Enough.
I travel quite some distance for work but this is affordable.
I make my own opportunities outside work.
Yes
Great team to work with and be part of such a strong group, even in the current climate.
Apply for trainee roles rather than apprenticeships.
