Learning how the store works what jobs need doing daily in store. All management jobs including the safe and running the store. Time management first aid training. Handling of cash. Giving out jobs for staff to do. Availibility checks. And also priduct quality checks on all fresh products i.e bread produce chilled milk and eggs
Ive developed on my customer service skills. Ive learnt to deal with time management skills both on and off of a till. Ive learnt how to deal correctly with customer complaints and who to pass them on to. Ive developed in my team work skills as a fast pacing environment with lots of staff in store.
I enjoy this programme a lot. As not only do i have a great job in a store i love with an amazing support team. I also get a qualification which i can use later in life and get to learn new skills on a daily basis and get to build on in store and in my education.
I feel very valued by aldi as any questions i have i feel i can ask and get the correct support and answers from. Also aldi help build on my qualification by sending me on courses which will help in store as well as my education. Also if i need support with an issue i know who i should voice it to.
Now the education provider has been changed i think that the programme is more organised in helping us complete the coursework and get the correct evidence that is needed to progress further. Also both staff and education provider help support in our development throughout the programme to complete the correct course
I feel we haven't recieved a lot of training from our provider as we have completed workbooks and been obsereved on what we have already learnt in store. I think training could be worked on im different areas through our provider rather than just workbooks and observations as then our knowledge could be tested in real life situations.
We recieve a vast amount of training from aldi. From both staff in store and course at head offices. In which staff will work closely to help train us in store on stock and also management jobs. In which you will get a specific member of staff to ensure training is provided correctly.
It meets our costs as i only really have to travel when i have courses at head office but i feel that we should be reimbursed travel costs which i have not been. But otherwise i feel that costs are met with our salary as its considered a high wage compared to other apprenticeships in the area.
I dont feel there are as aldi is a retail company so outside of work there isnt any opportunities apart from charity events for aldis chosen charity. Which i have not yet taken part in as none have appealed to me personaly. As they are mainly sporting events which arent my area of expertise
Yes
Because it is a great company to work for. A great environment to work in. And normally a great team to work with. Also all staff help each other out. As it's a fast pacing environment with a lot to learn in short periods of time. Otherwise its the best place ive worked.
Ensure a busy retail evironment is where you wany to work. Ensure you dont mind working various shifts on no shift pattern. If you like a challenge aldi is the place to be. Especually winter time as very busy and a fast pace at Christmas time. And ensure you want to do 3 years qualification in order to learn everything
