Being an Audit Trainee involves daily tasks such as working with spreadsheets and working closely with clients to complete tests for the financial accounts.
I have had one exam so far in account which has tought me a lot about my career and I use some of the skills from this exam everyday. A two week external training course was also taken at the begining of my time at BDO.
I mostly enjoy the team and company I work with at BDO, I feel they exceed my expectations and make me enjoy the programme more than I thought possible. The work is interesting and challenging.
My counselling manager is very considerate and helpful therefore contributes greatly to how I feel appreciated by the company. I have been nominated for a quarterly award which shows my work is being recognised. I feel like most of the people in BDO do value me as a co-worker.
The training and exams are well planned out as we are made aware of these on the planner in advance. We also have an external assessor to visit us on a quarterly basis which is very helpful.
Having only had one exam, it's difficult to judge this. But the tutition I did receive for this exam was good.
My counseliing manager is very supportive with any queries I may have, he takes time to understand any problems I may have.
My salary package struggles to meet my living costs as I rent in London on the school leaver salary.
There are a lot of sector events that take place and are very enjoyable. I would like to opportunity to take part in voluntary work.
