Our hours were from 9.30- 5.30. We arrived each day and started with a presentation or group exercise, this included a presentation about litigation and entry into law and a business group exercise, which was particularly good. After this we would spend time with our supervisor in the different departments. During this week we were able to sit in on three different departments. We would receive work from our trainee supervisors, this could be things such as research or drafting. Some days we were even able to sit in on some of our trainees calls, this proved to be very interesting. Lunch was at 1 and after this we would again return to our supervisors and carry on doing work until 5.30 when we went home. Overall, the week proved to be very enjoyable, it gave a real insight into a career in law. I particularly liked the fact that we were able to rotate around different departments.
I have definitely become more confident as a result of this week! At first it was very daunting but as the week progressed I learnt there was nothing to be scared about, all the teams were very friendly and happy to help you if needed. I have always improved my research skills, this was often a task given by my supervisors but also when I was given tasks by them I would sometimes have to research the topics before being able to do them.
The programme was very enjoyable, it was much more structured than any other work experiences I have done before. I also enjoyed the fact that there were also girls doing it, it was good to be able to talk about what we had all done throughout the week and being able to go to lunch together. I think that we did group exercises and presentations was a very good idea as it meant that we weren't always in the office and were able to spend time as a group.
I felt very valued by Pinsents. We were collected by our supervisors each day to take us to the departments, I thought this was very good and not something I'd expect. Then when in the departments the supervisors were very attentive, always making sure we had things to do and able to do them. They also provided hot and cold drinks and biscuits everyday, I think this was very welcoming!
The programme was very organised, we received a timetable at the start of the week and always had somewhere or something to do. We were given a supervisor each in each department and mostly sat with these people. We always had something to do. Others in the department were often made aware that we were in there and came to say hello.
Our trainee supervisors always gave us support as well as others in the department also offering their help. I think this was well done, we received advice and feedback on our personal statements. The work we were given was often stuff that we would be able to do but if it wasn't our supervisors guided us with help to make it easier and explained it to us.

We didn't get paid for this week as it was only work experience but it was very enjoyable.
