My role is within the Secretarial part of the company. It involves booking travel and meeting rooms for people in the office. I also help to arrange events which requires a lot of jobs such as booking rooms and catering, printing leaflets and sending invites. My job involves helping support employees in anyway that I can with their workload.
Yes! I have learnt to become more confident whilst meeting new people. The job has also allowed me to become more organised as I have deadlines which I have to meet and being organised helps me to get everything done. The job has allowed me to become a lot more independent as I have to study alone and practice for upcoming exams. On the other hand I has made me a lot more familiar with group work as arranging events involves lots of communication.
I absolutely love this apprenticeship, it is even better than I expected. The team that I work with are so considering and helpful, there is always someone there to help you and you are always made to feel valued. Everyone is very hard working and motivated to do well which makes the work a lot more exciting. It is exactly what I expected of the firm.
Everyone around me is extremely helpful. I have already been recognised for some of my work and have received some amazing feedback from people I didn't expect it from. This really does show how thoughtful the people here are, they will always find a way to help you feel valued. I also have a buddy who has been by my side I since I started who is always ensuring I am happy in my position and working to my best ability. This is helping me to achieve my very best.
My programme is very organised. I have a set amount of study a week which allows me to take this when I think is the best time. The information needed for my study is all available to me easily online which makes studying a simple task as I have all of the resources in front of me. When starting at the firm my induction was arranged way ahead of the date which allowed me to get everything sorted. So far everything has been planned extremely well.
My training provider is great! All of the resources needed for my study is already uploaded online which allows me to access it whenever I feel like it. I have an assessor which marks all of my exams and gives me my results very quickly, he is also very helpful with giving advice and answering any queries I may have. I enjoy my training and cannot wait to complete the course.
I get a lot of support from my manager and people around me. My manager arranges regular catch ups which allows me to bring up anything I think may be going well or not so well. There is a lot of support, there are even people I can email if I needed help. Everyone I keen to helping me achieve my best and if I have any concerns someone is always there to listen.
My salary is enough for me to do what I like with it. I do try to be careful with my money however I am paid enough to enjoy myself and treat myself every month. It allows me to spend money on both myself and friends & family. I am able to use my salary for things such as holidays, new clothing and meals for me and others. It does allow you a lot of flexibility.
I have only been within the firm since October and already I have been to many social events. There are quite of lot of events planned for new joiners and apprentices such as evening meals. There has also been meals for occasions such as Christmas. The firm also offers outside of work activities such as football however I don't join in on that.
Yes
Everyone within the firm tries their best to help you succeed. Everybody is so polite and will always go out of their way to help you. There is always a job which you can pick up which means you are never sat with nothing to do. The amount of people I have met from working at the firm already is amazing. Everyone is able to get along and nobody is left on their own. It really is an amazing place to work.
The main piece of advice I would give is to ask questions. You shouldn't feel as though you cannot ask someone for help if you are stuck. There will definitely be someone who can help. In your onboarding process I think it is extremely important that you communicate with new people as I have met many people from all over the country which I keep in contact with, you never know when they will come in handy. Meeting the new apprentices gave me a positive start to the firm as I have others close by who are able to help as much as other employees are. I think its also helpful to come out of your comfort zone as this allows you to be recognised and become more successful.
