I am a KPMG360 apprentice. We do 6 month placements in different areas of the business and rotate around. After 2 years, we decide which area we want to specialise in and KPMG helps us to qualify in that area. I am currently in Public Sector Audit so I get to go to hospitals and schools and find out how their finances are working and check everything is up to standard. I get to work in a different place every week and meet lots of new people. It is so much fun and I really love it. Wish I had found out about it sooner.
I am studying towards my AAT Level 4 Professional Accounting currently and hope to progress to ACA Level 7. I am learning so many vital skills such as teamwork and communication along with more specific financial learning.
I love my programme. I am very personable so I enjoy that I get to work with different teams in different places, and I get to travel up and down the country and work in a variety of areas.
The main impression I have got from working with KPMG is that they really care about the individual. I 100% feel that my contributions are valued and that KPMG want me to be happy and healthy.
In a UK sense I think the organisation of the KPMG360 is really well structured and organised. I am one of the first apprentices to work in my office in Nottingham so there have been a few hurdles in terms of n-office co-ordination but the programme as a whole is very well put together.
I feel like I have a really supportive relationship with my Performance Manager who I regularly talk to about my progress and any questions/worries that I have. I am also supported by my Resource Manager who takes in mind where I want to go in the future and helps to orchestrate that.
Again, I feel like KPMG is accommodating of any needs I may have and I feewl completely comfortable asking for support if I need it.
I think that our salary is extremely generous and it is far more than I was ever expecting from my first job.
There are lots of opportunities to get involved at KPMG. I joined in October and I am already a part of the Social Committee and organising my first solo event. I am involved in the Back to School Programme and am hoping to become the Midlands representative for my peer group.
Yes
I love working here.
Be yourself. I don't think I got the job because I said the right things in my interview. I think that I got the job because they liked me and thought I would make a good addition to the KPMG family.
