Now I’m at a later stage of my apprenticeship my day consists more or less the same as a qualified electrician with a variety of tasks around site
Having no experience in the electrical sector, I’ve learned how to become an electrician and how many aspects of the electrical trade are carried out safely and correctly
It’s good work with SSE and a variety that is carried out throughout the country on many different sites. The variation of jobs helps, as work doesn’t become repetitive and new challenges come about
The company itself is huge so it’s is easy for work you personally do to go unnoticed, but on a site for example through supervisors or engineers it is easier to feel valued in this case
I would say as a whole it is quite well organised especially college and training. I’d have to say work wise in the past sometimes everything is quite unorganised at times and last minute
Support is available whenever I feel it is needed. But if this is not available someone else in the workplace can help or point you in the right direction
Same as above really, whenever support is needed it can be found easily and always have the backing of those people
For the stage of life I’m at my salary is good enough for me to live an enjoyable life away from work, but more money is always welcome
Outside of work there are plenty of opportunities the world is your oyster
Yes
Because they are a big company and offer many benefits when working for them
