It involves fitting and wiring electrical components including and not limited to sockets, switches, isolators etc. I also have to fill out risk assesments to ensure the job is completed safely.
Yes i have learned many new skills involved in an electrical apprenticeship. My hand and technical skills have also vastly improved along with my store cleaning abilities.
I enjoy when we are busy with work and have plenty to do. Its satusfying seeing a full electrical job through to completion.
I feel fairly valued. There are times we are quiet and dont have much work when i feel forgotten about often being left doing nothing for periods of time.
I have experienced most of the skills needed to pass my final assessment. My manager does reviews to ensure we are getting a good experience.
My training coordinator is very accessible and checks i am getting the training i need. He phones often to see how i am getting on at work.
I recieve the support i need to advance.
It just covers the costs. The basic wage is just enough meaning overtime is always a good chance to get more money.
There are many different employee benefits such as money of bicycles and Vodafone discounts etc. They also offer a discount for live active memberships which is very handy.
