I get an insight into the team I'm doing my first placement in and I've been given my own allocation which keeps me very busy. The tasks I do vary from client to client but overall I produce reports, support my team and send things out. we also get involved with apprenticeship related activities such as working on projects with other apprentices.
I've learnt a lot relating to AAT. We've also learnt a lot about policies through internal training. We've also been given various forms of training both relating to our placement and just general including tax training, excel and effective writing etc!
I love the programme, I love coming to work and being with my team. Everyone at the office is really friendly so there is an array of people you can talk to and meet. I love the independence i'm given.
I feel very valued as I've been given loads of support and I've been treated like a proper full time employee despite only just starting off as an apprentice. My wellbeing is regularly checked from my performance managers and line manager within my team.
I love the structure as it allows us to experience a variety of different role before making a decision on where we would like to specialise full time.
I receive loads of support from our training provider as we can email them, ask for live support on any questions we're stuck on.
We receive lots of support whether it be from our performance manager, people leader, line manager and even my colleagues
As I live at home with my mom and I don't live too far, I don't have much living expenses (besides from bus pass and helping out with bills at home) which means i'm left with a lot to save and spend on whatever I need. Plus the benefits we get (lunch allowance and work laptops/phone) meant I didn't need to spend anything on work related items.
Yes, there's loads of opportunities to get involved with extra curriculars such as representing KPMG at different events.

It's a good way to start your career in accounting. You get valuable experience that you wouldn't get with university and you're paid which feels empowering and makes you feel more independent. (especially because you know you're not left in debt)
Be yourself. Know the firm and it's values. Practise inductive reasoning well in advance!
