My role is within IT project management, this involves local systems reviews, project analysis - to a point, light development roles, sharepoint development and workflow building.
I have developed skills in all aspects, I am a stronger communicator, stronger developer and more confident in conveying ideas/recommendations. Formally I have undergone Nintex and SharePoint training, this has been extremely useful for my personal development and projects.
I enjoy the programme, however I do think some of the NVQ work begins to feel repetitive, some of it is also slightly outdated. It is still beneficial and can be interesting depending on the module. Regarding the workplace, it is fantastic with plenty of opportunity to grow.
I feel very valued, especially by my local team as I am regularly told that I am valued with my monthly review. This is reflected by the responsibilities I am given.
I do think that the trainers dictate to how slow or quickly you progress so it is subjective to them. Everyone from technical to commercial roles have the same NVQ, this is slightly odd but it keeps everyone on a level playing field.
I have had no issues in regards to support.
I receive plenty of support from my employer, however I have had no issues to resolve.
As I approach the end of my second year I am struggling slighty
Yes there are plenty of opportunities to take part in, including the football team, social events and other company activities, I haven't taken part of all of these but they are always spoken to in a positive manner
Yes
It is a great place to start a career as there are plenty of opportunities to grow, whether that be with job roles or internal development. The car scheme is also very good for younger drivers
I would be prepared to plan your time efficiently, this is a key thing to do. When you have personal work regarding the NVQ and the work from your employer.
