I work in the Business Tax department at Moore Stephens. On a daily basis I carry out numerous tasks and roles including; Preparing provisional and final tax computations for various clients, Contacting HMRC to resolve issues and helping clients redeem tax credits from research and development schemes.
I am currently studying for the CFAB qualification, which is the first 6 E-assessments of the ACA programme. We also have regular TDP sessions and more specific department training to help us develop our skills within our job. Moore Stephens provide a lot of support and guidance to help us get through the exams and our jobs.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Moore Stephens. Everyone has been extremely accommodating and helpful in my first few months. There is lots of support available. One thing that could be improved is the social aspect of the firm. I think that team socials are few and far between.
There is a comprehensive amount of training and support and guidance within the first few months at Moore Stephens. We got planners within our first week detailing where we need to be and what is going to happen for the foreseeable future. We have regular meetings with our line managers to discuss targets and things we could improve on.
First intuition is the training provider for the CFAB scheme. They are an excellent provider and provide us with personal phone numbers for the tutors to allow us to discuss any issues anytime. We attend college once every few months and it is always enjoyable and a nice break from the office.
The Learning and Development team at Moore Stephens are great. The small team works tirelessly to help new starters passing their first exams. We had an internal introduction to bookkeeping before we did our first exam. This gave me a head start to what I would be learning and helped me pass my first 2 exams.
The salary is very competitive for an apprenticeship scheme in London.
When i started there was a lot of information given to us regarding opportunities outside of work. However, I have not recieved any information whilst at work about these events. Business Tax department holds bi-monthly socials which are great fun and a good opportunity to socialise with members of staff.
Yes
Top firm which provides excellent support and guidance through the process of becoming a chartered accountant.
Make sure you do research into your specific department. Think outside the box and come up with your own ideas.
