My job role is an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor. My daily tasks include; assisting both the quantity surveyors and project managers to gain experience in the construction industry. The projects I work on are both in the public and private sector which creates diversity in the work place. I both internally and externally communicate with a range of people at work and clients outside of work.
I have both developed exisitng skills and gained new skills in costing and commuincations mainly.
I enjoy the programme i am on, throughly. Both gaining experience and meeting new people are two of the best aspects of the experince. I hope to grow further in these areas and other areas.
Mott MacDonald have made me feel welcomed and valued, all the employees are friendly and have made me feel comfortable. I have had several reviews were i could tell my managers exactly how i felt in confiendece. The motivation the team provides is great.
The programme is well structed from the companys side however, from Sheffield Hallams side it is confusing and the information given is conflicting- needs work.
I get above and beyond the traing expected. Great skills learnt which i can use in my everyday life.
I get support throughout from my fellow employees and mentor.
I currently live in the city so accomdationa and travel is low. The compoany pay above expected and give apprentices and graduates 6 month pay reviews. The money allows me to go out with mates and enjoy out of work time.
The soical aspect of Mott MacDonald is great, the team are always out doing activities together which vary throughout the year.
