My daily role as a Trainee QS is to assist with the monthly valuations, carry out measurements, assist with contractors applications for payment. My responsibility has been gradually increased over time. I attend University on day release which allows me to transfer my skills into work.
Yes, I have learnt a lot regarding construction methods and principals but I have also learnt Quantity Surveying Specific Skills. I am attending University on day release which comes with further learning and development.
I really enjoy the variety in the programme with external and internal training sessions being planned, regular site visits all of which keep me motivated to learn more.
I feel very valued, they have involved me from the start which has brought on my development.
Very, regular training , performance meetings during the first year and onwards makes this programme extremely rewarding
Lots of guidance throughout
HR Team , Mentor, Budddy , supportive meetings about progress are all provided by mace
I think I earn a standard Apprentice rate but I believe this could be higher seeing as the graduates at mace earn nearly twice as much as an apprentice despite doing the exact same roles.
