In Buying: Setting up the vegetable board for the day, Looking at existing orders doing amendments, Sending Purchase orders for new orders. Dealing with rejection of material (talking to suppliers). Creating a shortage report. Dispatch: Logistics admin,Lokking at the stock control learning how the pickers pick then going onto a project with Waitrose Claims. Planning: Building plans doing factory updates (I have not been in this department yet).
I have had a lot of in house training going on fruit master classes, going to see suppliers. I have also been to Fowler Welch (our main haulier for Tesco). I am also going to visit the Tesco depot at Peterborough. I have also done my level 1 and two in food hygiene and health and safety. I am soon doing my level 3. At college I am also doing level three in operational skills.
I really enjoy working here at the Bourne site at Bakkavor. Everybody is really friendly and more than willing to help if I require any help. The options I have been given for next year are brilliant I cannot wait to start my career.
Very valued even though it is a huge business here at Bakkavor they still make you feel that everything you do is appreciated.
Very organised I am in three departments in my one year apprenticeship these are: Procurement, Planning and dispatch. Along side of these three departments I am doing various training along the way as well as going to Holbeach college.
I am supported very well at my college if I have any problems I can ring or email and have instant help. Equally even though we only have three week blocks with in the year we are welcomed at any time on site.
Bakkavor are also very supportive and they are behind me in wherever I choose to have a role in the company. Also any training I would like to do they are more than willing to sponsor me.
This year it is sufficient for me as I do not own my own house have any bills.
Bakkavor have various different activities through out the year, I am yet to find out what they all are.
Yes
There are so many opportunities and if they are like me not knowing what they want to do a company like Bakkavor is great to find out what you would like to do and what you enjoy doing at work.
Be yourself in your interview/ assessment day, try your best and be very willing to learn.
