  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • apprentice for commercial banking. I will help do tasks for my team and help to do the daily admin tasks. I will also be in charge of optics. I have to monitor the customer interactions and make sure that this is to a high standard.

  • I have developed upon my communication skills and my i.t skills and helped learn how to make them appropriate within the bank. I have obtained a Charter Banking qualification

  • I enjoy my programme a lot, I feel I get a decent work flow with an amount that does challenge me. I work within a strongly bounded team which I feel apart of.

  • I felt that I was valued highly by RBS as they were very supporting and treated me fairly.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • very organised. The training and support was what I expected and needed in order for me to pass first time. If I ever needed help, I knew I could turn to my assessor and they would be able to support me.

  • I received a lot of support from my training provider. they were always willing to help and would over deliver often.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I received a lot of help from my colleagues if I needed it. If I was ever struggling, I knew I could turn to several different people for help.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • very well. It supports me enough for daily and travelling costs.

  • there are lots of events outside work. we often run events which allow me to leave the office or to network with other people.

  • Yes

  • IT is a good foundation to starting a career within the bank and financial sector with a very competitive salary.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest?
  • make sure you plan out time for your work books and exam. make sure to ask for help even if the situation may seem daft.
