I work in Debt Management Operation, specifically Mortgage Recoveries and Litigation. I review mortgages and decide on appropriate action for each case. I also deal with solicitors in regards to litigation.
I have learnt a lot about not only mortgages but the legalities of handling customer files and litigation requirements. I have developed my ability to make decisions that are of benefit to both our customers and the bank.
I enjoy my program because it covers the fundamental areas of business and highlights the importance of vital behaviours such as team work and communication. I find all the topics very relevant and helpful because they simplify concepts that are very important in being successful in my career.
As time goes by I feel more and more valued and appreciated because as my knowledge grows, I am able to influence and assist more and more colleagues and customers. I do feel like an integral part of my team.
The study planner is simple and breaks down the course requirements effectively. Since I became familiar with the online portal I have found it useful and helps organise the course and topics.
My training provider is always on hand to assist with any queries and thankfully they are flexible which helps work in tandem with the nature of my role.
RBS have a structure whereby support is always available. I receive support from not only my direct manager but also my fellow team members.
The starting salary is generous at RBS which helps me seeing as though I have to pay rent as well as commuter costs which can be substantial at times.
There are many groups available to RBS colleagues both social and support based. There are also many events that take place from fun activities to charitable volunteering.
Yes
There are plenty of opportunities for hard workers to achieve great things and there are many additional qualifications available to aid progression.
Be open minded because banking is changing very quickly. Be prepared to be encouraged to learn and develop skills across multiple areas of the business.
