I work within a project team in RBS. Each day I attend meetings and audios and have to work towards deadlines. I keep to a schedule every day to make sure the project is on time.
I have learned new skills within excel. I was unsure how to use this before I joined RBS and now I am able to more things on it. I'm also learning to have discussions in within meetings and take minutes for meetings to.
I really enjoy my role within the department and RBS, its very interesting and rewarding when you complete a part of the project. The apprentice overall is very poor. The communication between myself and the apprentice assessor isn't great, ive also had numerous assessors since I joined in july.
I feel very valued by RBS and also my team. I'm treated very fairly and the workload is manageable as long as I manage my own time. I also have the chance to go on different training courses which I find very useful. I also have the same amount of holidays as an apprentice as my colleagues do which is great.
again if this is relation to the apprentice itself then its very poor. the organisation is very bad and they seem to have to much on their hands and to many apprentices to deal with. I also think that going forward they really need to adapt or they will face huge problems as the overall BPP isn't great.
not much. I send numerous emails and don't get anyone responding to these. It takes weeks in order for anyone to get back to you. you also get a phonecall a month and I've had 2 since July. I don't feel that I get the support that I should receive on this course.
I do receive a lot of support from my employer. They are very understanding of the fact I have workbooks to complete and they are aware i do need time to complete this. Any new apprentices that come in also receive a buddy which is great for support as its good to understand it from someone who is in the same position as you.
yes I think for the job I do its very reasonable. the benefits that I also receive are great and I find these very useful as I get to chose what I want, for example I chose dental cover and some other options. I could also chose this for my partner too.
There are a few difference opportunities outside of work although I dot attend many of them as I live quite far from the office. I tend to leave when my shift ends and I don't travel back through ifthere is an event on, the most recent one I seen was for the EDA and the graduate scheme.
Yes
I think RBS is a great place to work and I feel that there are many opportunities within the bank to do different things. I have worked in banks before and I enjoy the experience in rbs the best. I also like the working conditions in my department as your just manage your own workload.
be confident and do your research. read up on different things about the bank and their values. its important to have an understanding of what the banks all about. I also think you should make sure that you have an idea of what you want to do as you will have the option to put your ideas into objectives.
