I am currently a Senior Associate working in Entrepreneurial Business, which is a subsection of audit. Daily tasks include verifying balances and testing data to ensure it is correct. A lot of time is spent chatting with the client and also helping junior members of the team.
I am currently 5/14 of my way through my ACCA qualification. We also receive lots of on the jobs training to help us develop. My communication skills have increased massively since joining.
Deloitte is a great company to work for, they offer a lot of help and support and everyone is very friendly and willing to help you if you have any queries. It has met my expectations.
I feel very valued by Deloitte and this is shown in feedback and sometimes rewarded with a Limelight award (£50 voucher). Managers will also thank you if you have done something well.
We had a very good induction course which taught us the basics of the job and also Deloitte's values. We receive lots of training and support and there is always someone above you who you can talk to if you need anything. We are given a lot of time off to study for exams and Deloitte are aware of how important they are so are understanding if we need more time off around exams.
I study at First Intuition and they are a brilliant provider who offer lots of support. We are given a lot of time off to study for exams and Deloitte are aware of how important they are so are understanding if we need more time off around exams.
Everyone is really supportive, I always feel like I can ask my field manager for help. I haven't had any need to deal with the HR team. My mentor is great and tries to have a catch up every 3months or so.
I currently live at home so have a small amount of costs, I believe the salary to be very competitive for someone of my age. For the location however, it may be a little low due to the living costs being nearly as high as those in London.
Lots of opportunities to do with sport; ride across Britain, sailing regatta, various clubs like football and rowing. We also have a golf day. We help out at various schools and community projects. Very good Christmas party and also other social events throughout the year such as go karting.
Yes
I believe it is a great place to work and very beneficial for anyone who is looking to start a career in finance.
Prepare lots for interviews and practice with someone else before hand if you can. Make sure your CV is clear and concise, and only include things that are relevant to the job. Be confident.
