My Role involves working in a contact centre for British gas, day to day I take calls inbound specialising in Smart Metering, alongside this I also I do work towards an NVQ apprenticeship in customer service call centre skills.
I have learnt skills regarding the job I do in Smart Metering learning how they work and what is involved in the process of smart meters, along with this I also deal with overflow for billing so I know have a knowledge of billing and how accounts are billed and work
I enjoy the role I have where I work with a team that I get along with, the role itself along with how the company operate making things a lot easier an less stressful in a new environment, it exceeded what I expected the role and experience to be.
I feel very valued by British gas, I get a lot of positive feedback from my manager and recognition when I have achieved a target or done something well, there has also been occasions where the business manager has recognised our teams achievements.
I feel the programme is well structured, training provided all the necessary support to help do the job and ensure we knew what was going on with the nvq, given time to do studying and learn, always informed in advance any changes
I receive a lot of support initially from the trainers who taught me and the team the role we are now doing, and now the support I receive from my manager constant feedback and help with general problems/ advice, I enjoy working with my manager.
I receive a lot of support from managers and other individuals in the role, support is always there if needed and if there are any doubts about anything in the role or otherwise it is straightforward to find help.
The salary for an apprenticeship is very good, it does help me a lot with my living costs and the travel to get to and from work, the costs to use facilities in the building such as the canteen are all reasonably prices as well.
There are opputinties to volunteer outside of work, our team function in a 5 a side football team outside work and there are always local community events that people can attend.
Yes
It is a great place to work the people are friendly the help is always there when needed and you are made to feel welcome at all times and the pay is good to.
the application is a long process advice would be to stick at it in the end it is worth the process, stay calm in the interview be yourself, the opputinities that role presents make it even more worth it, if I would have liked to have been told anything is to be calm and not panic during interview process.
