I am a British Gas service and repair engineer. My day to day responsibilities is to fix and service boilers and heating systems. I train with mentors and at Thatcham academy. Who show my skill and help my knowledge
I have learnt how to work with my hands. I was very confident in customer skill which allowed me to focus more on my technical ability
I love my program, it's changed my life and I have the skills I need to progress and work in a day to day role
I feel valued by British Gas. Not centrica. I feel like I work for BG not centrica. Centrica are faceless and not involved
I have had a solid structure set by my manager and college. Also college are very flexible and allow us to choose and work on areas which are not that strong.
A lot, we have loads of support from my mentors, tutors and managers. Even other colleges on the patch. Everyone is only a phone call or a email away
Loads. My manager does weekly checks on us. He also tell me to call him if we need anything. And find me the right person to help
I feel the salary doesn't help. I struggled with the pay as I'm living on my own in oxford and I at some points struggle to make ends meat. I ended up using my saving to support myself which was supposed for a house deposit. Now I feel I'm behind and in debt
I'm not sure what this question means. But I'm guessing it means the way you can progress and get into to the company. As British Gas is so big. It's a brilliant way to progress and get opportunities
Yes
I feel that British Gas had been good to me. And I feel that I would recommend them. It's a shame they don't make more contact.
Speak to people in the company and get s gauge of the company's values and directives. This will help you apply
