I am currently an Engineering Apprentice, I'm working with the new product team alongside the engineering functions to manage and complete the build of prototype machines. I get a good chance to work with various other functions in the business and work a fairly dynamic job role facing new challenges and projects.
I've gained qualifications both internally and externally during my time with the company, these have helped me to develop confidence in taking on my work in the role I'm developing into. I've developed on some of my existing skill sets and been able to put these skills to the test when carrying out some of my project work.
I enjoy the way my programme allows for a lot of freedom of choice and development, similarly I enjoy the work culture and unique workload. One of the highlights is the team I get to work with have a good knowledge base which has helped me to learn quickly through asking questions and being shown examples.
I feel valued by Cummins as I receive regular positive feedback from my manager and members of the teams I work alongside/with. The chances I get to work on and lead projects is something that makes me feel quite valued.
The organisation and structure around starting the programme and getting you qualified and ready to start with the learning process seemed well done. The introduction to other functions and visibility with business was something that allowed for me to be able to take up work quickly as people were aware of me and happy to help.
During the training parts of my programme I most often received feedback from the provider that was helpful and constructive
The support system is quite clear and direct, which is very useful in get problems dealt with in a timely fashion
The Salary based on an apprenticeship would be considered nicely competitive and is adequate enough to match up to my costs
The company has a good ethos regarding taking part in external projects regarding STEM and working with the local communities, similarly they engage well with recruitment events and are keen for us to take part
Yes
