I work in risk assurance, My role mainly consists of completely internal audits with various clients on various subjects. Usually i am out on client site on my own.
I have learnt many new skills! My communication skills have excelled, my business knowledge expanded and my confidence rocketed. My computer skills, mainly excel and powerpoint have also vastly improved. I am part qualified through the ACA. I have learnt all about the risks businesses face.
My programme is intense, it is hard work, but it is worth it. The exposure to business is invaluable. The company has a great culture and atmosphere, helping me to meet friends not just work collegues here.
PwC is a very big company so it is sometimes hard to feel personally valued. I kknow my work is valued and within the feedback system you do receove praise for a job well done. Within my team i feel very valued.
The structure isvery well organised. It is laid out to you as soon as you first join, so i know each year, what training and exam i will be doing. My progression is made clear to me also.
Kaplan is our training provider, the kaplan tutors are very good and alwyas answer emails and any questions we may have in a timely manner. Alot of hard work has to be put in but the support is there for those that ask!
With training and qualification your employer will give you some time off to prepare for these. Other than that you have to study alongside of work.
The school leaver programme has a competative salary. It goes up year on year to reflect the qualifications you are acheiving. The first yeah just about will cover living costs, but you have to live to sa strict budget. All travel costs are reimbursed. Social costs also take a very big part of the budget, but the wage is livable.
Yes! With the amount of people within the company there is always opportunity to get involved in things outside of work. I.E sports teams, charities. Infact it is encouraged!
Yes
It is a great place to learn and work. It gives so much exposure to all types of businesses, and it tests you and ultimately makes you better.
Be honest and be yourself, there is no perfect person, everyone that works here is completely different, and everyone brings their own ideas to the table on a daily basis. We love a challenge. Also, revise the company, what we do, main events that have happened, pick something you're interested in and ask questions on it. Revise for assesment days, and relax in the fina interview!
