Trainee Associate Year 1. I have interactions on a daily basis with all levels of management and am often on client sites interacting and performing the appropriate work. I have been responsible for a lot of the control testings and am currently working with a client to help implement systems for the company to be compliant with new laws, but also make sure it is a bonus for the client.
I am training for the ACA with Kaplan and often have elearns and training weeks to further my knowledge, provided by PwC. My own skills around speaking to clients and computer skills have improved massively.
I am enjoying the work I am doing and have felt very supported in all areas, even when I am unsure what I am doing. There is a good work/social balance and there is a good culture within my area of work.
I have felt very valued at PwC and have received many compliments from the people I have worked with and partners/directors
I have received a lot of training and had a full induction week before I started in the office which was really helpful, if a little overwhelming. I have a lot of support within the company with regular contact with my people Manager and buddy and the directors/partners of my area have started a new mentoring group to meet them.
Kaplan provide a huge amount of support. There is the online training which supports the information we are given before exams. There is also a tutor available to help via phone for any problems I may be having
I have a people manager who is very responsive and supportive, a buddy who has helped me through the exams and any problems I have had. I also have a director mentor and every job I have worked on has had very supportive colleagues.
My salary covers my living costs for living in my flat and when I am travelling to a client site, this is covered through expenses.
We have a monthly social event within my area and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in charity events through work.
Yes
I have enjoyed my working experience so far and have learnt a huge amount, whilst also working towards a well respected qualification.
Practice the online tests before completing the actual one you will be marked on. Also, learn about the company and qualification to make sure you fully understand exactly what you will be doing and what is expected of you
