I am a Indirect Tax advisor. Most of my day-to-day tasks involve drafting client response queries for my manager. I'm also working a lot within VAT compliance.
I am currently studying for two professional qualifications through work the ATT and CTA. Once a month, I also travel to London to attend a VAT specific course, meeting up with the other joiners who joined the firm at the same time.
I really enjoy my programme. The fellow members of staff are very friendly and helped me greatly settling into my role.
I feel very valued by my team, I regularly receive informal feedback and every three months have a more formal sit down and discuss areas where I could improve.
Very well structured. I had an initial week long induction alongside other graduates who joined at the same time. You are assigned a buddy and a people manager who ensure you are well settled into the team.
I receive a good amount of support from my training provider. I feel happy that should I have any problems/queries or need support I know someone who could help me out.
I receive good support from my employer. I feel valued within my team and there is support there should I need it.
I am lucky that I live at home so I can easily meet all of my costs. However, should I be living by myself my financial situation would be a lot different. i think the salary is fair for my entry into the firm.
Yes there are lots of opportunities to get involved in things outside of work including sports clubs and social societies.
