I am a manufacturing engineer, my day-to-day role consists of various things such as carrying out activity's on the vision systems on site, PPR's (personal problem request). I also work along side maintenance to do various jobs.
I have gained my year 1 level BTEC and in the process of completing my year where I will then next year go on to my HNC. I have gained confidence and working in a an environment within engineering gives you team working skills. I have been on many training courses that have further my skills in exercises like welding, working on the tools, PLC programming.
I enjoy my programme very much so, I see it as I am earning while I am learning. I enjoy my job on daily basis which I believe is important.
I feel very valued at Cummins, my manager appreciates my efforts daily and I have been recognised for jobs that I have worked closely with him on.
My programme is well organised, not only do I have many things to do in company put when I go to college one day a work I feel it is very beneficial and educational.
I receive a good amount of support from SWDT (my training provider), there is extra catch up classes also on certain days where a lecturer will come into company and work with us on any un finished work.
I receive all the support I need from my company.
I salary is excellent, I am more than covered for my travel expenses and living costs.
There are numerous opportunities that are offered to you outside work within Cummins.
