Electrical Engineering Apprentice, I am currently training so my daily tasks are classroom based, with some time spent doing projects in the laboratory.
I have learnt a variety of new skills whilst on the course such as: soldering, nodal analysis, filing, sawing, drilling and various other practical skills. As well as this I have developed skills such as fault finding and wiring.
I have enjoyed being mixed with another company, having to do team projects. I have also enjoyed the practical side being able to develop my electronic skills in workshop.
I feel quite valued as an apprentice at DSTL, because having met a lot of senior employees throughout the business who have started as apprentices and worked their way up, makes me feel as though I can do the same.
I think it is quite well structured with the different lessons we have, however sometimes we are left with not much to do.
I feel that I am well supported by my manager and most of the tutors at the training place seem happy to help the best they can.
I feel that I am well supported by my employer.
I feel like the salary meets my costs.
There are plenty of opportunities outside of work.
Yes
I feel like there are lots of opportunities available.
Make sure you are prepared.
