Trainee Chartered Account Auditing clients for both statutory & non-statutory audit Interacting with both clients and colleagues daily Responsible for specific clients booked into and for specific sections within audit files
Completed and passed five exams, developed interpersonal and communication skills, learned a lot about accounting, auditing and financial standards. Also improved organisational, efficiency and teamwork skills plus professionalism.
Definitely enjoying it much better than what I expected - everyone at work is lovely, the clients are good, there are many students which is good and made it easier to settle in (including starting at the same time as new students), also means there is a good social culture so a great opportunity to network. Been given a lot of responsibility early on by being able to meet and talk with clients.
Definitely receive a lot of feedback from those above in the team and structural hierarchy, including manager and partners. Do feel valued amongst the whole team but would be better if could understand scope of work amongst a bigger picture, and having more work to do during quiet periods. Job assessment system not the best measure of how well work has been completed, and is pretty unclear how to get better scores.
There's a clear team hierarchy and structural hierarchy in terms of the student group and managerial colleagues. Have been given a mentee and ADR, much internal training, and induction lasted over two weeks which was very helpful. Everyone is available to support and it is clear to see where tasks get delegated from. The programme is well organised. With that being said, there could sometimes be more tasks available especially around quiet periods. Not fully clear who line manager is though.
Kaplan are very good and always available to help.
A lot of help and support is given when stuck on how to do things and when it is required. Most seem very happy to help out, give advice and even offer to do so before being asked. Someone is always available at any level too.
Salary meets expectations at current level and reimbursement package is decent too.
Definitely a strong social culture and stuff to do such as football or charity related opportunities.
Yes
A good company to work for who care about training you up, and very nice people that work here too.
Fairly standard in comparison to other companies.
