As a manufacturing apprentice my day-to-day activities invole, working alongside the line leaders, running cost saving projects on the line and working to continiously improve the site through Kaizen and Kanbans
I have learned how to effectively communicate within a team, I have learned how to use the tracking system SAP and I have also expanded my knowledge within the engineering secture in general.
As an older apprentice, I did enjoy my program once we we're in company. When at the training centre EEF I didn't enjoy it too much as I was surrounded by younger and sometimes immature students.
As an apprentice and as someone whos had problems in the past, I have to say that the occupational health departed and HR will do anything to help you out with regards to any health or work concerns
The structure is a continually evolving process and we learn and improve upon the previous years. Although it isn't perfect, its a working system thats proven to create some top apprentices.
EEF is a great training facility providing you have no concerns. Many times I was pushed to do things that I medically couldn't do which resulted in me being sent home and my company were contacted. they sided with me ofcourse
I can't count the number of times i've recieved advice from someone within the company, this includes my line manager, HR and occupational health.
The pay is a great living wage and it helps keep me motivated while and have peace of mind while completing my studies.
Outside of work mondelez offers a wide range of activities, from sports teams/clubs to two on site gyms with offer regualr classes for memebers.
Yes
I feel that Mondelez would be a great employer for anyone with the drive to succeed. opertunities are everywhere within the factory if you get stuck in and its a true job for life if you want it to be.
Make sure you do your reasearch on the company and brands. Polish up on your competancy interviewing techniques and be enthusiastic. The interview process was in the format of a day, set around an interview, a mechanical and electrical assesment before we we're all taken on a tour of the factory. Nerve wracking experience but it was worth it in the end.
