My apprenticeship is split in two. I take calls everyday assisting customers with their motor claims and speaking to third parties. While working I am allowed 3 and a half hours each week to study in preparation for my CII exams, to try and succeed in my cert CII.
I believe I have learned many skills from computer skills which I was poor before starting, to gaining confident from speaking to many different people, I have actually learned to study better as I have realised this is something I want to succeed in.
I do enjoy my programme however I prefer actually learning and studying for exams a lot more than my actual job role as it can be boring and stressful at times.
I feel many people work very hard for the company and are under a lot of pressure however do not get the recognition for the work they do as every time you make a mistake it is brought up however if you do well its not congratulated.
The structure is poor and needs improved, we are given 3 and half hours study time each week however there is many times that we do not get this and its less which is poor as it states in our contract we should be given this, we do not have one person who takes charge within our location or get any meetings to discuss.
The support was not great, we would have a meeting each month with the same person however felt pressure due to the work load which had to be completed with very little help and relevance to our job role.
I feel this is improving with the use of group chats and we can discuss online however I feel meetings would be beneficial as everyone is there and can bring up anything they want to discuss there and then.
I feel the apprenticeship wage is unfair, we do the same job as handers and are studying to gain qualifications that many people do not have therefore the wage is not great.
I hope there is however have not researched much.
