I was put in the facilities team and my role was to mainly shadow meetings and also be a part of meetings with different key members of the team. This ranged from talking to architects about their current projects, to going around the building looking at health and safety and also discussing ways to change the designs of certain Cisco offices.
I developed my creative skills more by looking at the different features of the cisco buildings and seeing what can be changed to make it more aesthetically pleasing which I found to be quite fun and it let me enable my artistic side.
I enjoyed the programme a lot as it allowed me to see the different sides of the company. Before going in I had the perception that Cisco was just full of software engineers but there are a lot more people there to make it happen.
Cisco welcomed me and took my opinions seriously which I value a lot. They made me feel that I was apart of the team even though I had only been there for a few days and it just made the whole experience a whole lot better.

It was clear she really took time to think of where we would all go as she entailed it to fit with what we want to do in life.
I received a lot of support when I did not know how to do something they were always more than happy to help me which I found very comforting as sometimes you do need to ask for help and I never felt as if I was a burden to them.

She honestly made this whole thing run so smoothly and I am very greatful to her.
It was not a paid work experience but I still gained a lot in experience if not wealth. We were also well fed for all the days and I feel that was all we needed in the end.
They run a lot of apprenticeship schemes which I think is quite useful. They also have events running like pub quizzes and fun days just to keep everyone integrated and socialised so work doesn’t become a drag. They seem to keep every worker happy from what I saw.
Yes
I would definitely recommend Cisco to many of my friends as it was a very enlightening experience and t helped me develop my understanding of the work force on to whole new levels. It was a comforting environment that allowed our learning of excel.
Keep it honest they will always find something for you to do. Show them how keen and eager You are to work for them. They want people who really want to be there so show them that.
