I had worked in the fixed income department over the week where I had learnt about bonds, equities and the factors that effect the profits or loss made in the process of the investment. I had spoken to apprentices within the company and with employees in asset management. I had completed a project on bond, equities, private debt and what liquid and illiquid is.
I have learnt new computer skills and developed past skill I learnt for example on Microsoft office. I have also learnt about the different ways of looking at a task.
I really enjoyed the week and found it very interesting where I met the team and was taught how they do their jobs efficiently. I had a meeting with apprentices where I asked them a lot about the apprenticeship scheme here as I am considering to apply for it.
I have only been here for a week but my supervisor has made me feel very welcome by introducing me to the team and showing me around. they had paid for my food and travel.
This week was very well organised in that there was a workshop where we were taught how to structure our CV's and how to answer interview questions. We also had a talk with the current apprentices where I learnt that I wanted to do an apprenticeship rather than going to university.
I received a lot of support from him. If I had any questions he would explain them vey well. I have been in the fixed income department for a week and I already understand how the different types of bonds and equities word
I received some support from my employer but I was with my supervisor for most of the time and I received a lot from him.
It was unpaid work experience
