I'm an Apprentice in the Voice Engineering team. I'm currently working on a number of exciting projects that includes working with up and coming technology such as machine learning. My day to day includes working on reports attending update meetings, programming work and collaborating with other team members.
I have learnt more programming and I think I have improved my communication skills and time management skills a lot more as a result of collaborating on work. I am also gaining more project management experience
To a good extent, I find the work I do challenging and interesting which keeps me engaged. My team is very supportive with any help I might need.
I definitely feel valued at from the atmosphere created here. Especially when they want me to help out promote the programme I definitely feel like the firm recognises the work I do.
The structure is improving as I carry on with this programme the firms buddy and mentor system definitely comes in useful.
We have weekly meetings to check in with our course representative. The structure is an improvement from last year and they respond fairly at a reasonable amount of time for any support needed.
HR platform is very accessible should I need it and there's a lot of resources available for any learning opportunities I need
The package is very reasonable for an Apprentice programme
There are a range of different opportunities outside of work which I have taken advantage of from football leagues to volunteer schemes which I have enjoyed taking advantage of.
Yes
In comparison to a normal degree I think GS is providing with a lot more knowledge and skills which I am constantly applying into my day to day work. The scheme is really benefiting my own development and I always encourage to apply and take advantage of schemes like this for this reason
Don't be discouraged if you don't have any technology experience the main thing is if you have a passion for technology and are actively doing things to prove that. Also be yourself, don't try to portray a person you think they're looking for as it makes you look less genuine.
