  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Advisors are always there when needed, even on weekends which outlines the commitment they have to us apprentices. They are willing to offer advice but also realise that we are young adults and can make our own choices, I feel they have found this balance well.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support wise the company are fantastic, on my first day at site I had to send a few emails in regards to servers, printers etc. and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. My line manager always catches up with me asking if I'm enjoying, and if there's anything I'm struggling with which is great as I know they will help me if I'm unsure about something.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • In college blocks everything is paid for which is brilliant, trains, food in college and accommodation are all paid for by the company, and the wage we get is more than enough to see us through the week and weekend. Out on site the living allowance covers hotels which is good and petrol is covered in expenses, including any tolls or business related purchases you make.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • There are plenty of opportunities outside of work, I have been on site for 4 weeks now and have been invited to 3 different after work events. The apprenticeship team are also keen for us to visit old schools, participate in video blogs to try and inspire younger people to get into the industry. Outside of work I either go to the gym by my hotel or watch telly and relax.
