Job Title: Project Controller/Project control manager. Daily tasks include budgeting / forcasting / resource planning etc. I am currently responsible for coordinating and actioning project control activites for a team of 88 people under the supervision and guidance of the team leader. The projects involved in the role deliver to customers around the globe. Vast interaction with a number of stakeholders around the business occurs daily.
My organisationial skills in all aspects have improved. Confidence, communication and all-round competance have improved.
Work is challenging and engaging. Numerous development activities are available. The scheme met and surpassed my expectations.
I feel very valued in the company, from the word 'go' you are treated like a fully integrated team member and the point of contact for your area of responsibility. If you can prove your competance you will be presented with oppertunities to go above and beyond what is expected for you. This will come with extra recognition and often reward.
Reviews are held every 12 weeks to monitor progress and there is a permenmant team ready to answer any queries. Introduction and training takes as long as it needs to for each individual.
As stated above, the scheme leaders and college tutors are approachable and open.

The scheme pays exceptionally well for a person of my age. All costs are more than accounted for.
There are numerous sports programmes available as well as discounts in the local area for BAE Sytems employees (gyms, mobile phones, cars).

Considering the oversaturation of the job market, gaining a degree from a reputable university (free of cost) as well as five years experience would make one sem more employable. I intend to stay at BAE Systems for the forseeable future.
