On a day-to-day I'm involved with the running of the store and with getting the jobs done that need doing. I prodominantly work morning so that's date checking the store and getting it ready for opening. Then working the backstock out the warehouse and then moving on to the delivery when it arrives. Whilst making sure all the office paperwork is completed for the morning shift.
Yes, I have developed my people skills greatly because I'm previous jobs I wasn't in contact with customers as much so that is one I have developed. Also my organisational skills have been improved and I have learnt to handle staff better and getting results.
I enjoy going to work every morning and doing the apprenticeahip and noticing my own development and improvement gives me great pleasure.
It differ slightly with who I'm working with and being only at one store you don't really get the whole scale of how you are valued across a wider scale.
The Aldi side of the programme and the development of me is very well structured but from the side of my apprenticeship I have had 5 different tutors in 1 year and it hasn't been organised by the company and it has been frustrating at times.
When we are in contact the support is great, however with the amount of changes I have had and the lack of communication in the whole it has been quite hard and the support when not in contact is minimal at best.
Aldi have been very supportive and my line managers have been especially supportive with my development.
Compared to other apprenticeships at Aldi you are paid very well and it really covers my expenses.
If I need a day of for a specific reason my manager will always try and prioritise it so I can have it off. However, the days and hard work does take a lot of energy out of you so on days in I tend to fall asleep straight after work.
Yes
It is a good apprenticeship with a clear structure in place for progression. It is a good place to go and learn how the store works and it also helped me improve as a person.
Be ready for hard work. It isn't the place to go and think it's easy.
