Procurement are the team who buy the suppliers for the business. This means we must help minimise the risk of raw materials coming into the business and tackle any supplier issues.
I have developed myself in a number of way, one being my confidence which has improved a lot due to having to talk to other people in the business and suppliers. My procurement knowledge has improved a lot due to being in different situations daily and learning off my colleagues.
I very much enjoy my programme. Each day is different to the next, I will be moved around sites every 18 months to grow as an individual and become more aware with other processes.
I feel highly valued by Bakkavor, I am involved in a number of projects as well as leading my own. This gives you a feel of importance in helping the business. My team are very supportive and my efforts are recognised.
My structure is a 4 year programme moving sites each 18 months. I am yet to start my CIPS qualification. However I think this is a great thing as I will be funded to earn a degree equivalent qualification.
I am yet to start my training with my training provider.
I receive a lot of support by Bakkavor, my manager and team do all they can to help me. If I have any question everyone is always willing to help.
I believe my salary is good for an apprenticeship, especially starting off. As well as this I am funded for my qualifications. For the time being my salary meets my costs however in the future it may not.
Bakkavor hold events out of work mainly for charity. Salads apprentices are raising money for a local charity which we will hold some events. One being a 10km inflatable run in which we will be participating in.

It is a well structured business to work for. There is a lot of experience within all the people working here which will help you tremendously. It is a great thing that I have this job and I am being funded to earn such a high standard qualification.
I would make sure you research Bakkavor, have an understanding of what they do and their core values. Ask questions people will know that you are young and new to the working environment.
