Internal Communications. Daily tasks would consist of loading stores to the intranet. Communicating with employees from different areas of the company. I can be interacting with anyone from an Executive level or general employee. External interaction is revolved around events we do such as landshuttle, Evolution and other event managers. Responsibilities consist of; loading/ finding internal stories for the intranet, organizing which one goes up on which day using a tool I created for the team. Member of the team during event season and also helping out with Video & photography, Graphics and external media. Projects; RAF Centenary, Internal Awards evening.
I have improved on my Spelling and Grammar. Health and Safety, Diversity training was internal skills we had to partake in.
I Enjoy the program a lot more than I thought. You get given tasks that are important and when you complete them you feel a sense of pride. The support around you is also enjoyable because you get along with everyone and it is like a big family.
The Scheme tailors each placement to you, giving you tasks to complete which can have a positive impact. I feel valued in my department and overall in MBDA because there is so many apprentices around the company everyone is very accepting.
The programme is very well structured! We have enough time to work and study, the placements are flexible with study time depending how busy you are. Support is brilliant because we can either use members in our department or the Learning and Development team, so there is a wide range of support. Being in my first placement the structure is very well laid out because all of your further placements are 80% confirmed.
There is a lot of training at the University. However, we only get a limited number of days to take up such tasks so you have to be picky when it comes to choosing which ones. They support apprentice very well, always being accessible viva email and also offering after hours essions
You get a buddy to support you in the beginning but you are also able to have a mentor for advising for the more important decisions. Have a big Learning and Development centre with many support tasks.
The salary is of a very high standard for a teenager leaving A-Level. it meets all of the studying costs and travel. MBDA also offers a small grant for you to spend on university items such as books and exams so you don't have a lot of expenses when coming to work. If it is related to work they will 90% of the time cover it.
There are many opportunities outsides of work such as events around the university and also social events outside of MBDA. They have many social clubs you get involved in from going to the theatre to playing in the company wide football tournament. I Haven't joined this because I take part in sports outside of work and there is much free time outside of work due to all the studying during the academic year.
Yes
They have a great structure and support system around the apprentices and I believe this is the best way to study and earn. The company is also great, they are investing thousands into you to be a better employee and to better yourself. If MBDA are willing to invest a degree into you then you know you will have a secure job coming out of the scheme.
Be yourself and get the grades in A-Levels to get in. You get to travel with your departments depending where you are, so be flexible when working because you'll need to be. Always put university first because you need to preform at school first. During the interview ask questions and find out more regarding the company because you want to make sure you are joining for the right reasons.
