I'm currently a software engineer contracted out to work with our main client, daily I check to ensure that reports or correctly created for the client and that they are up-to-date. I am constantly working and learning new skills day by day.
I've been able to develop lots of new skills and push myself with challenges during my time at Capgemini. I've been out to do training based around Pentaho in Manchester, I've also been able to take part in multiple in-house training workshops to touch up on what I know and push myself.
I'm currently greatly enjoying the programme, I'm in a team I enjoy working with and Capgemini is a very welcoming and warm place for someone to join. It definitely helped me grow when I joined and gave me the correct place to grow that I needed, it hasn't all been easy since I started but it's all fun to look back at.
I feel greatly valued as a person and a resource at Capgemini, I've moved around the areas since I've joined and met a lot of people. You get recognized for your involvement and get more out of what you put in, I've been able to work in a wide array of areas and develop myself due to this. You can feel a sense of commitment from the office and your manager knows if you stay to finish that last bit of work, it's all very rewarding.
The programme is rather well structured as they've had a lot of time now to be able to get the ground work and support that people need. There is a large sense of support around the business and your peers are great for help along the way, studying isn't overbearing and you definitely have time to live your life while working.
While I haven't used much of the support systems that are provided towards me they are always quick to reply to questions, sometimes you can need a peace of mind for a general question and it's great to get these answers back asap.
Capgemini has a brilliant support network put in place, coupling this with multiple reviews there is always times when someone is paying attention. It's a very positive situation and they will definitely help you if you are down or struggling with something.
My salary covers all of my costs nicely leaving me with what I need, I have a 45 minute journey each morning and I have no issues with covering my petrol needs.
I was able to take part in one of the Charity Events Capgemini had partnered up with the Princes Trust to do, it was a very active year with planning lot's of events for the company. If you are seeking things to do Capgemini is seeking people to do them, you can definitely find an opportunity for yourself if you try.
Yes
It's been a wonderful experience since I joined and I couldn't see myself doing anything else, I'd would 100% recommend it to my friends purely based around how much I have enjoyed the programme since I started and the people I've been able to meet since that point.
While it can be cliché the classic be yourself applies a lot, Capgemini is looking for who at the start may not have a lot of technical knowhow. If you can show you are very outgoing with a will to learn and progress they will reach out for you, I think I was worrying a lot when I was in my process but if you can be happy and confident in your attempt they will know.
