Rotational programme in Audit, Tax, Advisory, Actuary and Technology. I am currently in Legal Services - Immigration. I am a legal assistant - supporting consultants as well as working on projects for senior managers.
Studying AAT - Becoming a Technicians level accountant. Will then study to become a charted accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA - you can also specialise in Actuary and Technology). You learn a lot of new skills depending on the department you are working in. A lot of excel skills, presentation skills (including public speaking) - Again skills depend on the department you are working in.
The programme is the best programme to be on in the whole accounting industry - it won the best grad and non grad programme award. However it is hard work and you have to give the programme a lot of your energy especially during exam times. So, in summary an excellent programme but at times you will be swamped.
KPMG does value employees.
Very well structured - however you will not always get your first pick in terms of the department you want to be in.
BPP is good - however you will have to do a lot of work your self.
You get time off when going to University - However you have to do a lot of studying outside working hours. We don't get specific study days before exam however.
If you live at home then you will be able to live very comfortable and save a lot of money at the same time. However if renting you will have no savings - a lot of room for improvement in salary as you gain experience.
A lot of clubs and social events.
Yes
An amazing opportunity to build the foundations of a very successful career.
Be serious about the interviews and initial application. Interviewers can easily tell if you haven't taken the time to prepare. Find out what type of questions will be asked i.e there will be scenario based questions so think of scenarios where you have shown KPMG values. Take time to prepare effectively and do lots of research. Dress well for interviews and try to make a good impression. Be calm in interviews and talk slow and steady - don't be afraid to ask the interviewer to repeat questions. Its okay to take time to answer questions - But not too long! Try not to freeze.
