OLE Technician, maintain the overhead lines, clearing structure, painting bases, patrolling, internal interaction are among your working team and management, no external interactions unless on nights working with different disciplines,
I have developed my communication skills and listening skills, the qualifications I have gained are a b-Tec and an NVQ in rail engineering, no external training courses or internal as the company don't allow this
I enjoy the program as the work is good and the company is good to work for but the apprenticeship is run poorly
the depot managers make me feel valued but the teams do not and the apprenticeship management don't care.
poorly organised but the structure would be good if the management of the scheme was better
on the job specific training I fell is very supportive but the training for the NVQ and V-Tec is poor
the support from all areas of the employer are good in relation to depot but other areas such as the scheme itself is poor
it is above the minimum required by the government but considering the roles we do are equivalent to those who are fully employed I feel that the salary is low and should be half that of a level 2 technician in which I will go as soon as I finish the apprenticeship
no
No
the scheme is run poorly and I feel the would be better of just applying for the job I will end up in as no qualifications are required and is a much better way to achieve the same goal
that it is a very team based organisation and that is what they are looking for most. also I would like to have been told more about what the different roles in tale before having to pick a discipline
