My role as an apprentice as Thames Water is to assist fellow technicians and shadow them on jobs, gaining experenice and knowledge so that I can be a confident dual eletrical and mechincal technician when I qualify. Going out to fix reactive jobs and carry out pre planned tasks.
Yes my skills and knowledge have grown so much since I started in 2014. My eletrical skills have helped me with jobs at home aswell as at work.
I enjoy going in to work as everyday is different and job vary so it is never boring. Although there is alot of therotical work as well a pratical it is a very good training programme.
I get alot of apprecition from my manager when i complete and job and higher managment also recognise this and mention it. They also tell me how they want to me to stay and progress in the company.
I think that the apprentice programme is ran well the first year full time college and when on site alothough i feel that in house training could be good to improve training.
My mentor and tutors are very helpful and support me in everything that i do.
My managers are very flexable and hhelpful with my learning always helping me to gain new skills by moving to different locations with in the company.
At the start of the apprentership the salary was not as good as other companies but where some other apprentices have left due to this fact they have upped the pay package meeting expectations.
Yes there are many other opportunies that can come from my skills and knowledge gained.
Yes
